GamePricer Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
GamePricer ("we", "the app") helps you identify and price video game collectibles. This policy explains what data the app collects and how it's used.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, used to create and secure your account. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email you choose to share with us.
- Camera and photos: the app uses your camera to scan game cartridges, boxes, and barcodes. Photos you take are stored on your device. When you are signed in and add a game with a photo, a copy of that photo may also be uploaded to our servers as a candidate cover image for that game title; photos we approve may be displayed to other users as cover art (see our Terms of Use for the license you grant us).
- Collection data: game titles, platforms, condition, prices, purchase prices, and notes you save are stored securely and associated with your account so your collection can sync across your devices. Daily totals of your collection's estimated value are stored to power your portfolio history.
- Images sent to AI services: when you scan a game, the photo is sent through our server to Google's Gemini vision model to identify the title. The image is used only to return an identification result and is not stored by us.
- Push notification tokens: if you enable price alerts, we store your device's push token and your alert preferences so we can deliver those notifications. Turning alerts off or signing out removes the token.
- Purchase status: subscription payments are processed entirely by Apple — we never see your payment details. We receive purchase receipts and subscription status (via RevenueCat) to unlock Premium features on your account.
How we use your information
We use your information solely to operate the app: authenticating your account, syncing your collection across devices, and identifying scanned games. We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
- Supabase — authentication and cloud storage of your collection data, uploaded photos, and alert preferences.
- Google (Gemini API) — vision-based game identification from photos, routed through our server.
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — optional account login methods.
- Apple App Store / RevenueCat — subscription billing (Apple) and receipt validation (RevenueCat). We never receive your payment card details.
- Expo push service — delivery of price-alert notifications to your device.
- Cover art sources (Wikipedia, IGDB, TheGamesDB) — publicly available box art displayed in the app; your device loads these images directly from those services.
- eBay listing data — publicly available recent sold-price data, accessed via a third-party data provider, used to display market pricing. No personal data is sent as part of these lookups.
Data retention and deletion
Your collection data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete individual items at any time within the app. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, use Profile → Delete account inside the app, or contact us using the information below.
Children's privacy
GamePricer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
